How to Use the Recipe Weight Scaler
List your ingredients one per line with the amount first, then choose whether to hit a target total weight or a target weight for the first ingredient. Press Scale by Weight to get the factor and the adjusted amounts.
How the factor is found
Total weight: the factor is the target divided by the sum of all ingredient amounts.
First ingredient: the factor is the target divided by the first ingredient's amount.
Amounts can be whole numbers, decimals, fractions such as 3/4 or mixed numbers such as 1 1/2.
Use a single unit across the list (for example, all in grams) so the total is meaningful.

This is a general cooking aid; if your list mixes units such as grams and cups, scale by a single reference ingredient instead.
