How to Use the Sourdough Feeding Calculator
Enter how much starter you keep, choose a feed ratio and a hydration, then press Calculate Feed. The tool returns the flour and water to add and the total weight after feeding.
How the amounts are found
Flour to add = retained starter × the ratio number (for 1:5, five times the starter).
Water to add = flour × hydration ÷ 100 (100% hydration means equal flour and water).
Total after feeding = retained starter + flour + water.
Feeding at 1:5 keeps the starter fresh for longer than 1:1 between bakes.
